PreKindergarten

• This month we are reviewing the alphabet.
• Our themes are Mother's Day, life on the farm, and insects.
• There is an Open House for perspective students/parents on Thursday, May 20 in the evening.
• We have a field trip to the TMZ buffalo farm on May 21.
• Our all-school Spring concert is on Tuesday, May 18 at 6:30.
• There is a book fair at school during the week of May 17-21.
• Friday, May 28 is our last day of school. We hope to spend part of that day at the park weather permitting.
• It has been a great year! The class has made new friends and learned many new things. I will miss them! I hope you have a wonderful summer!!

PreKindergarten-April

• To prospective parents of future LCS preschoolers: please feel free to contact the school office if you would like to set up an appointment to visit our class.
• We are finishing up our introduction to the alphabet with letters x and z.
• We have a short month due to Easter Break. When we arrive back we will work on our class t-shirt project.
• The school auction will be held on Saturday, April 17. Hope to see you there!
• We have another field trip scheduled on Friday, April 30.
• It is hard to believe that the school year is quickly coming to a close. The children have learned so much this year! It is always a joy to see how much they progress from the beginning of the year!

Modern World History-9th grade
At present we are studying WWII for the next few weeks. We will study restructing the postwar world next.

March PreKindergarten

• It's time to think about registering for preschool. We have an open house on Thursday, March 4 and one on Friday, March 12 at 5:30. Friday the 12th is also a family fun night at school. Proceeds will go to helping World Vision and the children of Haiti.
• Please feel free to contact the office and set up an appointment to come visit our school if you are interested in sending your child to the preschool 3's class or the prekindergarten 4's class next fall!!
• We are learning the letters s,w,y,v,and q this month. Some of our themes this month are space, weather, things that are yellow.
• We are going to Ann Arbor on March 26 to see the play "Once Upon a Time".
• We finish the 3rd quarter of school on March 26 and report cards will be going home on March 31.
• FYI: the school auction is coming up on April 17. Please plan on attending!

9th grade Modern World History:

PreKindergarten

• We welcomed two new classmates recently. Welcome to Brennah & Aaron!
• We will be focusing on letters b,f,r,n this month while looking at the themes of bears & blizzards, famous people and holidays, recycling, and nutrition
• We will have the privilege of the high school's life skills class joining us for a couple of mornings to interact with the children.
• We have no school on Monday, February 8 due to a teacher development day; and Monday, February 15 due to winter break.
• We will have a dental hygienist coming in during the week of February 22 to talk to the children about dental health.
• February 19 and 20 will be our February Fun-Raiser. Handouts have been sent home with more details.

9th Modern World History

Week of February 1:

• We are learning about the French Revolution & Napoleon
• We will have a quiz on both Wednesday & Friday
• Current events on Thursday

PreKindergarten

• The end of the second quarter is January 2. Report cards come out on January 27
• The PreK classes will be learning letters k,e,u,p. We will be talking about Australian animals, dinosaurs, fish and artic animals.
• We welcomed Kaden to our class this month!

Modern World History 9th grade

Week of January 4:

• We are learning about the Enlightenment and American Revolution this week.
• We will have a quiz over 6.3 (Enlightenment) on Tuesday and a quiz over 6.4 (Revolution) on Friday.
• Current Event report is due Thursday.
• Next week we will be reviewing for a test over Chapter 6, and then we will begin reviewing and prepping for the semester exam.

December PreK:

• We are working on letters i,j this month along with our shapes.
• Please send in a small gift bag for the gift we will be making for you.
• Our Christmas party will be on December 21. Please send in a $3-$5 book that is wrapped for a book exchange.
• A field trip notice went home for attending a play in March. We need to make reservations early, so I will need your permission slip by the due date.
• We will switch from doing the activity bags this month to sending home our class books on a rotational basis. That way you will get to see some of the things we have been doing in class. I hope you enjoy them.
